PUB OF THE WEEK; Golcar Lily, Bolster Moor Question time with Darryl Broscombe.

99 -101 Slades Road, Bolster Moor, Golcar, Huddersfield, HD7 4JR How long have you been at your pub and how did you get started? I trained as a chef far too many years ago, and have been working in pub kitchens for about 30 years. I took over the Golcar Lily about 11 years ago.

What's your best selling drink? Timothy Taylor's Landlord or Carlsberg Do you do food? Yes. What's your most popular meal? It's a toss up between our crispy belly pork, lamb shank or our steak and ale pies. When do you serve food? Mon - Fri: 12- 2pm, 6pm - 9.30pm, Sat: 12 - 9.30pm and Sun: 12 - 8pm What's your most popular night? Saturdays. We also have the Mikron Theatre come once a year, which will be on September 23 (Tuesday) with a performance of Till the Cows Come Home. Tell us a joke? What did the worker at the rubber band factory say when he lost his job? OH SNAP Disability Access We have good access to our function room, and we are currently waiting on a planning application for an extension which will contain a disabled toilet.
