PTPN to build oleochemical factory in Sei Mangkei.

State plantation companies, PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III and PTPN IV in Medan said they could build an oleochemical plant with a capacity of 2,500 tons per day with an investment of at least Rp1.6 trillion. PTPN III President Megananda Daryono PTPN III has been assigned to build and named the operator of Sei Mangkei Industrial Estate in the regency of Simalungun, North Sumatra. He said the project will be implemented as soon as possible after the ground breaking ceremony in the first half on 2013. Construction of an oleochemical factory in Sei Mangkei will used crude palm oil as the feedstock. Part of CPO production from North Sumatra would be processed into oleochemicals, which will have much higher economic value. He said PTPN III already built a palm oil processing plant with a processing capacity of 75 tons of fresh palm fruit bunches per hour, a Palm Kernel Oil factory with a capacity of 400 tons and a power plant with a capacity of 7 megawatt using oil palm nut shell as fuel. Simalungun Regent J.R. Saragih said the Sei Mengkei industrial estate project is ready for construction.
