PSE&G SETS NEW ELECTRIC PEAK DEMAND RECORD

 NEWARK, N.J., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) today established a new record for peak electricity demand of 9,197 megawatts (MW), eclipsing the previous record of 9,085 MW set on July 23, 1991. Today's peak demand was set at 5 p.m.
 PSE&G serves approximately 1.9 customers and is New Jersey's largest electric utility. PSE&G has not experienced any major operational difficulties in meeting customer demand for electricity during the current heat wave.
