PSE&G SETS NATURAL GAS SENDOUT RECORD
PSE&G SETS NATURAL GAS SENDOUT RECORD NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Public Service Electric and
Gas Company (PSE&G) sent out a record 1,843.3 million dekatherms (about 1.84 billion cubic feet) of natural gas to customers yesterday (Dec. 19). PSE&G is New Jersey's largest natural gas supplier, with 1.5 million customers statewide.
The previous sendout record of 1,816 million dekatherms was established on Dec. 22, 1989, when the temperature averaged 11.8 degrees F. Yesterday's temperature averaged 24 degrees F. Rudolph D. Stys, PSE&G senior vice president-gas, said that in addition to the cold weather and the greater demand for heating, increased use of natural gas to generate electricity, and higher volumes of gas being transported to customers by PSE&G contributed to the record-setting sendout. Stys said PSE&G has ample supplies of natural gas to meet customer demand. -0- 12/20/91 /CONTACT: Neil Brown of PSE&G, 201-430-6017/ CO: Public Service Electric and Gas Company ST: New Jersey IN: UTI SU: PS -- NY078 -- 4525 12/20/91 16:42 EST
