PS8m Ferraris buy a lifeboat.

Byline: PAUL VASS

THE RNLI is set for an PS8million windfall from the sale of two classic Ferraris bequeathed to the charity.

Richard Colton's dying wish was for his 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB and 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 to be sold to pay for a new lifeboat.

The red 250 Ferrari is one of just 167 made and is likely to make PS6million at auction, while the silver GTB is expected to fetch PS2million.

Mr Colton, of the Colton Brothers shoe empire, died in March, at 83, at his home in Stanwick, Northants.

The RNLI's Guy Rose said: "We are deeply grateful."
