PS21m funding for Mint Building.
How the Mint Building will look CHRIS STEWART Group has started work on an Edinburgh city centre development with PS21m funding from Royal Bank of Scotland's Real Estate Finance team. The development, to be known as The Mint Building, will comprise 61,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation over eight floors plus 11,000 sq ft of retail or restaurant space on the ground floor.
Existing buildings on the site have fallen into disrepair after eight years lying vacant and will be demolished. An 1860s Venetian Gothic warehouse at 28 West Register Street will be retained and refurbished.
The group is also developing the adjacent property, The Edinburgh Grand on St Andrew Square, into 50 luxury serviced apartments with ground-floor bar, restaurant and basement gym. The two buildings will be known as The Registers and form part of the wider PS850m St James Quarter regeneration.
