DEVELOPERS have launched plans to create a PS20m shipping container business park in North Tyneside with the potential to create up to 800 jobs.
Crate Park at Cobalt is set to become the first of several incubator business parks around the UK designed to provide a springboard for new businesses.
The team behind Crate Park has been in discussions with planners ahead of submitting a detailed application this month, asking for permission to build a mixed use development on land adjacent to the existing Cobalt Business Park, with office space, retail and leisure space provided in upcycled shipping containers. If given the green light, the first tenants will be moving in by November.
