PRSA ANNOUNCES DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS ACCREDITATION EXAM

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Public relations practitioners have until Feb. 24 to register for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) accreditation exam, which will be conducted March 19 and 20 (location to be announced later).
The extensive exam is conducted twice yearly to test knowledge and competence in the practice of public relations. Becoming accredited allows PRSA members to use the APR (Accredited in Public Relations) designation after their name. More than 3,900 PRSA members nationwide -- about half of those eligible -- are accredited.
The accreditation credential can be earned by members of PRSA or other organizations belonging to the North American Public Relations Council. Candidates must have at least five years experience in professional practice, teaching or administration of public relations before taking the comprehensive exam.
Candidates should contact the accreditation co-chairs for the Philadelphia PRSA Chapter, Michele Chierici Fritz, APR, at 609-757-3935, or Peggy Leone, APR, at 609-342-3332.
A professional development and APR accreditation preparation series, called "PRView," is available to those interested in taking the exam. This all-day review will take place on March 6 at the EPA office in Philadelphia. For more information on PRView, call Al Peterson, APR, at 215-597-9905.
