PROMUS FILES FOR TWO ADDITIONAL RIVERBOAT GAMING LICENSES IN MISSISSIPPI - PLANS TO DEVELOP AND OPERATE HARRAH'S DOCKSIDE CASINOS IN TUNICA COUNTY AND HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI -

MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Harrah's, the gaming subsidiary of The Promus Companies Incorporated (NYSE: PRI), announced today that it has filed a Notice of Intent to Apply for a Mississippi Gaming license to develop dockside gaming facilities in Tunica County and Harrison County, Mississippi.
This is the first step in the planned development of the dockside riverboat entertainment complexes in these two counties.
In Tunica, the site is located 5 miles west of Highway 61 on Robinsonville Road, approximately 20 miles from Memphis. Harrah's has signed an agreement to lease approximately 150 acres to develop the complex.
In Harrison County, Harrah's has planned a casino entertainment complex in D'Iberville, Mississippi, on Biloxi's Back Bay. Harrah's has two tracts of land under option to purchase totalling approximately 40 acres to develop the complex. The site has excellent access and visibility and is located about one-half mile west of the Interstate 110 spur. The casino site will be the first available location for travelers arriving to Biloxi from the east on Interstate 10.
Proceeding with both projects are subject to various conditions and approvals including obtaining necessary gaming licenses and other regulatory and governmental approvals.
The national casino company is currently building casino entertainment facilities in Joliet, Illinois; Vicksburg, Mississippi; North Kansas City, Missouri; and Shreveport, Louisiana.
Harrah's is the only casino company operating in all five major casino gaming markets: Atlantic City, New Jersey, and in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Laughlin and Reno, Nevada. Harrah's parent company, The Promus Companies Incorporated, also owns and operates three leading hotel brands: Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites hotels.
