PROMARK SIGNS LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- John J. Henry, president of Promark Software, recently announced the signing of a licensing agreement with the National Geographic Society of Washington, D.C., to market MicroClas(TM) USA, a new computerized geography edu-game, to the Society's 13 million-plus subscriber base.
The agreement gives Promark access to the extensive National Geographic subscriber base, catalogue sales, and highly effective direct marketing force in educational, institutional and retail markets worldwide. Under the agreement the Society will assume all manufacturing and distribution expenses and provide a 17 1/2 percent royalty to Promark on all units sold.
George Peterson, National Geographic vice president and director of Educational Media, said, "Increasing geographic knowledge is the Society's mission, and we are pleased to work with Promark to produce this entertaining and educational program."
Established in 1973, Promark has been engaged in developing and marketing advanced personal productivity tools and address list management products for the past seven years. Through an agreement with Group 1 Software Inc. of Lanham, Md. (NASDAQ: GSOF), a leading marketer of postal software, the company provides mail management products and technology to the entire U.S. and Canadian market.
With the release of MicroClas in November 1993, Promark signaled its new focus on the commercialization of computer learning aid systems (CLAS). Describing educational systems as the fastest growing segment of the computer software market, Henry added, "MicroClas is the forerunner of a new generation of Promark software that will introduce highly interactive learning systems into home, business and school environments."
