PRODIGY NAMES STEPHEN L. KESSLER TO TOP FINANCIAL POST

 WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Prodigy Services Company announced today that Stephen L. Kessler has joined the IBM/Sears partnership as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Kessler, who was a vice president of the James River Corporation, is now responsible for Prodigy's business planning, financial controls and administrative operations. He reports to Prodigy President Ross Glatzer.
 At the James River Corporation, a major integrated paper and plastics products manufacturer, Mr. Kessler held several senior management positions in its consumer products unit. He was vice president, administration, planning and control for the Dixie Northern Sector, a large consumer and industrial paper business sold by American Can Company to James River. He also held financial management positions with Pepsico and Westinghouse. Mr. Kessler holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
