PRIMETIME EMMYS SET FOR SEPT. 19 FROM PASADENA CIVIC AUDITORIUM

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunday, Sept. 19 will be the telecast date this year for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' (ATAS') "45th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Presentation" airing on the ABC Television Network (8-11 p.m. ET/PT) and originating live to the east from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif. The announcement was made today by ATAS President Leo Chaloukian and Ted Harbert, president, ABC Entertainment.
ATAS' Governors Ball in the adjacent Pasadena Civic Exhibition Hall will immediately follow the telecast. Nominations will be announced on July 22 (5:35 a.m. PT; 8:35 a.m. ET) from the Academy Plaza Theatre in North Hollywood. This year will mark the 16th consecutive year that the Primetime Emmys will have originated from Pasadena.
As previously announced, the Primetime Emmy telecast will be produced and presented exclusively this year and for the next three years by the ABC Television Network. An executive producer for this year's Emmy telecast will soon be announced.
Eligible for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards are programs originally aired between June 1, 1992 and May 31, 1993. First entry deadline is April 5 (for entries broadcast between June 1, 1992, and April 5, 1993). The second entry deadline is May 11, 1993, for all entries that were originally presented between April 6, 1993, and May 31, 1993. Deadline to join the Academy in time to vote in this year's contest is May 20, 1993. Nominating ballots will be sent to ATAS voters between June 9 and 11 with the deadline to return ballots set for June 25. Blue Ribbon Panel judging to determine final winners is set for the weekend of Aug. 14 and 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The non-televised Creative Arts Banquet, primarily awarding Primetime Emmys in creative arts categories, is set for the day before the telecast on Saturday, Sept. 18, also originating from the adjacent Pasadena Center Exhibition Hall.
