 PRIMERICA ELECTS TASCO DIRECTOR
 NEW YORK, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Primerica Corporation (NYSE: PA),


following its annual meeting today, announced shareholder approval of the election of Frank J. Tasco to its board of directors. Tasco is chairman and chief executive officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., a post he has held since 1986.
 Primerica Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sanford I. Weill said, "We are pleased to welcome Frank Tasco as a Primerica director. His broad experience as a business executive and outstanding accomplishments will bring additional strength to our board. We also want to thank Joe Minutilli, former chairman of Commercial Credit Company, upon his retirement from the board."
 Tasco began his career with Marsh & McLennan Companies in 1954 and, prior to his present posts, was named president and chief operating officer in 1984. He is currently a director of Marsh & McLennan Companies and its subsidiaries, the Terra Nova Insurance Company, Ltd., as well as Borden, Inc. and the New York Telephone Company.
 He is an active member of a variety of professional, charitable and civic organizations, including the Business Roundtable, the President's Drug Advisory Council, the New York Stock Exchange Listed Companies Advisory Committee, and the board of trustees of New York University.
 Primerica Corporation is a diversified financial services company principally engaged in investment services, insurance services and consumer finance services. As of March 31, 1992, Primerica had assets of approximately $21 billion and book value of $ 31.65 per share.
