PREVIEW: PARTY TIME Dickensian Christmastime St George's Hall.

HAT the Dickens? WLeave the hustle and bustle of Christmas behind and be transported back in time for a festive evening with a difference.

Lovehistory, producer of the popular Catacombs of Liverpool's Dark History series, has announced a Dickensian-themed Christmas party at St George's Hall.

A Victorian celebration, Dickensian Christmastime, will take place in the spectacular Great Hall from 7.30pm on Friday, December 18.

The evening will include a Yule Time ball packed with performance, song, music and a selection of food from a variety of Dickensian-themed food stalls.

Set in the prestigious Great Hall, guests are invited to dress up as their favourite Dickens character, be it Nancy from Oliver Twist; A Christmas Carol's Ebenezer Scrooge or Great Expectations' Miss Havisham.

There will even be a prize for the bestdressed Dickens character.

Creative Director of Lovehistory, Judy McLean, says: "This will be a great way to celebrate a traditional Christmas - and Dickensian Christmastime certainly promises to be a party with a difference.

"The Great Hall is the perfect venue to bring a Dickensian world to life. It promises to be a fantastic sight with our guests getting into the spirit of the theme."

A Town Crier will officially start the evening's proceedings, followed by a famous scene from a Dickens novel. A team of professional actors will perform highlights from Dickens' best-known works while they interact with guests throughout the evening.

Traditional Christmas carols will also be sung.

General manager at St George's Hall Liverpool, Alan Smith, adds: "Once again, St George's Hall is delighted to offer a magical night of theatre and drama in one of the most dramatic and enthralling settings in the country.

"Due to the demand for the event, we have decided to reduce the admission fee to PS18 and allow guests to choose what food they would like on the evening, rather than offering the traditional dinner. The hall will have traditional stalls to allow guests to choose what they may like on the night while enjoying a Dickensian experience like no other."

Tickets are available now at PS18 (inc booking fee).

Purchase in person at TicketQuarter, Queen Square, Liverpool (no fees for cash sales) or online at www. Tel: 0844 800 0410.
