Kellogg going back to UMass
The University of Massachusetts has agreed to hire Memphis assistant and former Minuteman player Derek Kellogg as the new basketball coach. Kellogg takes over from Travis Ford, who left to coach at Oklahoma State, a UMass official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The announcement was scheduled for today. Kellogg, 34, played at UMass from 1991-95 and was an All-Atlantic 10 player. He has been an assistant coach at Memphis for eight years.
The Nashua Pride signed former Algonquin Regional and Franklin Pierce right-hander Nate Berberian. Berberian, a 6-foot-4, 195-pounder, earned a spot after an open tryout on Saturday.
Debbie Barry, 42, of Ashby finished Monday's Boston Marathon in 3 hours, 1 minute, 56 seconds.
