Renaud agrees to terms with Seattle
Former Franklin Pierce right-hander Keith Renaud of Southbridge agreed to terms with the Seattle Mariners. Renaud was a 10th-round pick in the recent Major League Draft. He will report to Everett, Wash., and join the Mariners' short-season Class A affiliate, the Everett Aqua Sox. Renaud, a transfer from Becker College, helped the Ravens to a return trip to the Division 2 College World Series this season. The Division 2 All-American and Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year finished with a 6-3 record and 3.00 ERA, with 91 strikeouts in 69 innings, and held opponents to a .195 batting average. He also batted .352 with six home runs, 39 RBIs and 59 runs.
