PRESIDENTS' DAY HOLIDAY: GAS PRICES DROP 1.5 CENTS
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Motorists traveling over

the Presidents' Day holiday weekend will find that the average price for unleaded self-service gas is $1.11, down 1.5 cents since last month, reported the California State Automobile Association (CSAA).
Retail gas prices have dropped despite the fact that Bay Area wholesale gasoline prices have recently jumped 6 cents a gallon, according to Mike Doyle of Computer Petroleum Corp., which conducts CSAA's monthly survey of 600 gas retailers in northern and central California and the state of Nevada. Doyle reported that the prices at the gasoline pump have not yet reacted to the wholesale increases.
This month's average retail price for unleaded self-service gas is 12 cents lower than February 1991.
