PRESIDENT OF WALBRO CORPORATION SUBSIDIARY RESIGNS

 CASS CITY, Mich., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Guy D. Barnicoat, president and chief operating officer of Walbro Automotive Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walbro Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: WALB), has resigned to pursue other interests, effective May 1, 1993.
 Barnicoat joined Walbro in 1990 as president and chief operating officer of Walbro Automotive Corporation. He also served as a vice president and director of Walbro Corporation.
 A successor is currently being sought, in a search that encompasses candidates both inside and outside the company.
 In the interim, L.E. Althaver, chief executive officer of Walbro Corporation, has assumed the post of president of Walbro Automotive Corporation, and Gary Vollmar, chief financial officer of Walbro Corporation, has assumed the responsibilities of chief operating officer of Walbro Automotive Corporation, in addition to their corporate positions.
 Walbro Corporation is a designer and manufacturer of automotive and small engine fuel system components. Walbro Corporation is headquartered in Cass City, and has subsidiaries and joint ventures throughout the world, including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, Korea and France. Walbro common stock is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol WALB.
