PRESIDENT OF JOY TECHNOLOGIES ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP RESIGNS

    PITTSBURGH, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Joy Technologies Inc. (NYSE: JOY) announced today that Brian J. Watt resigned his position as president of Joy's Environmental Group and left the company to pursue other interests.
    Marc F. Wray, chairman and chief executive officer, has assumed direct responsibility for the Group and heads a senior management committee within the Group to run the business until a successor is appointed.  Edmund J. Freeman, senior vice president, will continue to head the finance and administrative functions of the Environmental Group and will serve on the management committee.
    Joy Technologies Inc. is a leader in the worldwide manufacturing and servicing of mining equipment for the extraction of coal and other bedded materials.  The company is also a large supplier of air pollution control and ash-handling equipment for use by utilities and other industrial operations.
