PRESIDENT CLINTON TO DELIVER GREETING TO AMERICAN PUBLIC DURING TELECAST OF MACY'S FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS

 NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- R.H. Macy & Co., Inc. announced today that President Bill Clinton will send a special greeting to the nation during the telecast of Macy's 17th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration on the Hudson.
 The president's message will be delivered to the New York area via WPIX-TV Channel 11, from 9 to 10 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on Sunday, July 4, as part of an hour-long telecast, entitled "A Time for Heroes." The program will also be syndicated to over 150 television stations across the nation.
 "A Time for Heroes" pays tribute to the heroic spirit that has distinguished Americans throughout our history. The president's message will highlight a star-studded hour hosted by Tony Award-winning actor David Dukes and featuring "America Sings" and singer Larry Gatlin, currently starring in "The Will Rogers Follies."
 Macy's 1993 Fireworks celebration promises to be the largest and most sensational pyrotechnics display in the nation. This annual celebration of the birthday of the United States of America is co- sponsored by Macy's and the City of New York.
