PREMIERES AT TORONTO AUTO SHOW
TORONTO, Feb. 14 /CNW/ - Come to the Auto Show to see nearly twenty Canadian and Toronto premier showings of the 1993 cars.
The 4-seater, turbocharged Continental R, a 1993 high performance Bentley coupe, will make its Canadian debut at the Toronto Auto Show. The Continental R is the first Bentley in 40 years that has not shared a body style with a Rolls-Royce counterpart. The 1993 Mazda RX-7 is smaller and lighter, yet more powerful than its predecessor. Significantly, it returns MOT fuel economy estimates of 20 mpg city/30 mpg highway.
Nissan unveils four new prototypes: the 1993 Nissan Quest; a convertible version of the 240SX sports car; the 1993 pick-up, updated and restyled with an environmentally friendly air-conditioning system; and the 1993 Infiniti J30 luxury sedan.
Chrysler Corporation is showing its new line of mid-size and full-size cab-forward "LH" passenger cars. The Chrysler Concorde, Chrysler Intrepid and Eagle Vision are the first vehicles to incorporate cab-forward, a design trend Chrysler is introducing to the worldwide automotive market. A full-size version, the Chrysler New Yorker, will be introduced mid-model year.
Chrysler is also showing the 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10. With a top speed of 265 km, (165 mph) the Dodge Viper will pioneer the industry-wide introduction (1993) of an all-new six-speed manual transmission.
Chrysler also introduces the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee features improved comfort, ride handling and performance.
