PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF KZDG-FM IN DENVER

LOS ANGELES, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Premiere Radio Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: PRNI) announced today that it has completed its acquisition of KZDG-FM, formerly KDHT-FM in Denver, for $3.55 million, from APB Broadcasting Inc. The company has financed $2.2 million of the transaction. Denver is the 24th-largest Arbitron radio market in the country. Strategic programming changes and partnerships as well as management changes have forged a new identity for KZDG-FM, formerly KDHT.
KZDG-FM, the company's flagship for entry into the $400-million wired network radio market, boasts a new country music format. Last week, Premiere announced that it had signed a six-year exclusive agreement with America's leading country morning disc jockey, Gerry House and The House Foundation, capitalizing on the growth of country programming. The new show will debut in May. House will continue to be heard on Nashville's WSIX-FM, where he currently has a 20.1-audience share (persons 12-plus) according to the Fall 1992 ARBITRON.
The former general manager of KMEL-FM/San Francisco, Lee Jamison was recruited this month to join KZDG-FM as vice president/general manager. As general sales manager, Jamison led the station to the number-one spot in the FM market. His experience in the broadcast industry includes management positions at KCNR and KISN in Portland, Ore.
"We're ecstatic to have Lee Jamison join Premiere and Big Dog 92.5," said Senior Vice President Kraig T. Kitchin. "Lee brings with him a wealth of experience and knows what it takes to become a market leader."
"I'm thrilled to be joining such a top-flight organization as Premiere Radio Networks. I love country music, it's always been my first choice. Going back to Denver, where I was born and still have family, is an added bonus," said Jamison.
Premiere Radio Networks Inc. is a leading independent creator, producer and distributor of innovative comedy, entertainment and music-related radio programs that reach 98 percent of U.S. households. The company, founded in 1987, has produced 14 syndicated programs and has over 1,400 independent radio affiliates under contract to distribute programming. These programs are distributed free of charge in exchange for commercial air time during broadcasts. In 1991, the company formed the Premiere Marketing Promotion division, which develops customized promotional campaigns designed to increase sales and distribution. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles.
