PR firm flies flag for Wales.

A CARDIFF public relations and marketing firm has landed a prestigious UK award after working on a project to create a national online archive of Welsh life through the generations.

The People's Collection Wales campaign by Working Word won the Best Public Sector gong in the annual UK Excellence Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

The gong was presented by former Olympic medallist Colin Jackson at a dinner attended by nearly 800 PR professionals at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane, London.

The company was the only Welsh agency to receive a nomination in the UK awards.

The campaign was delivered on behalf of a partnership of the Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, the National Library for Wales and the Royal Commission for Ancient and Historic Monuments in Wales.
