PR NEWSWIRE ANNOUNCES BREAKTHROUGH SKI INFORMATION SERVICE

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 ~PRNewswire~ -- Sno Country Resorts & Reports and PR Newswire today announced the launching of its national ski resort information service that gives skiers instant access to resort and weather data by fax.
John Williams, senior vice president of PR Newswire said the service is a collaborative effort with Sno Country Reports of Woodstock, Vt., the foremost ski conditions reporting service in the nation, and WeatherBank, Inc. of Salt Lake City. It is being presented in association with the United States Ski Team and Sprint.
Sno Country Resorts & Reports uses PRNewswire's fax-on-demand technology to provide immediate fax retrieval 24 hours a day, seven days a week from anywhere in the United States and Canada. Simply by calling 1-800-473-4SNO, anyone with a fax machine and a touch tone phone can apply for membership and obtain ski resort profiles including daily ski conditions, the current local weather forecast, lift ticket prices, lodging information and entertainment options at the top 50 ski resorts nationwide.
Members are billed $2.95 on their credit cards for each profile requested; there is no charge for membership. Frequent callers are expected to include travel agents and ski club operators as well as skiers planning trips across the state or across the country.
"We have had tremendous interest from hotels and property managers who want to reach this prime audience of skiers and associate themselves with a particular resort. Our service makes it easier than ever," said Williams.
According to Phil Camp, president of Sno Country Reports, "What makes this service unique is that it combines the latest ski conditions with the most accurate mountain weather forecast. This is the ultimate ski hotline. The user now has access to far more facts than would normally be received from a resort itself. It's a convenient service that helps people make confident, cost effective travel decisions."
Following a test last year in which more than 20,000 calls were received on 38 top resorts, the decision was made to expand this year's report to include the top 50 resorts.
In addition, PR Newswire, the world's leading distributor of corporate news, has recently developed a series of premium fax-on-demand services for various industries.
