PPP implementing comprehensive strategy to weed out poverty from country: Fardous Awan.

SIALKOT, April 20, 2010 (Balochistan Times): Federal Minister for Population Welfare Dr. Fardous Ashiq Awan has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is implementing a comprehensive strategy to weed out poverty from the country on permanent basis and being a democratic party is also strengthening its links with the masses through its workers in the country. She stated this while addressing an important meeting of the party workers here. Member PPP federal council Muhammad Yousuf Khilji, President PPP Sialkot district Malik Tahir Akhtar Awan and MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali Advocate were also present on this occasion. She urged upon the workers to strengthen their links with the masses and try to resolve their problems to facilitate them. She termed workers as real strength of PPP and said that their problems would be resolved on top priority basis. Federal Minister said that PPP high command was fully aware of the problems of its workers and steps are being taken to accommodate them with in he available resources and circumstances. She added that PPP is determined to banish poverty from the country and the poor segments are being assisted through the Benazir Bhutto Income Support Programme. Federal Minister said that Benazir Bhutto was a dynamic leader who enjoyed the full respect by the world community. Her assassination shocked and saddened the whole world. She said in lieu with the Benazir Bhutto aspirations party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had started the Programme in her name to help the masses. Dr. Fardous Ashiq Awan said that billions of rupees had been allocated to uproot poverty allover the country. She explained that the partys next focus, after eliminating poverty would be banishing ignorance, literacy and diseases. She said that government is implementing reforms in education, health and other social sectors to enhance the existing resources so that maximum targets can be achieved for the provision of better educational and state of the art health facilities to the masses, she added. She added that the strengthening of the national economy, elimination of price hike and lawlessness, poverty alleviation and establishment of the durable peace was the top priority of the present government, as the government was making all out sincere efforts for the promotion of sustainable democracy and democratic norms and values in the country. She said that the government would protect the basic rights of the people through ensuring the early and smooth provision of all the basic facilities at their door-steps and the government will continue this journey of people welfare and services in active cooperation of the party workers. Federal Minister said that the present government would also compensate the political deprivement of the masses and would also give the practical shape to the political slogan Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan. She said that the government was striving to control the rising price hike for giving the maximum financial relief to the people, as she said that, the mounted price-hike was the gift by the previous governments wrong and failed economical and political policies. She said that the government would also create the maximum job opportunities for the sustainable political and economic stability in the country, besides, evolving an effective and positive strategy to pull out the country form the existing crisis, besides, ensuring the complete freedom supreme judiciary and media and establishment of real democracy in the country.
