POWER AUTHORITY SCHEDULES FORUM ON RATE PROPOSAL

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York Power Authority will hold a public forum at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11, 1993, on a proposed increase in rates for "replacement power" supplied to Western New York industries.
The forum will be held at Moog Inc.'s Human Resources Development Center, 7060 Seneca St., Elma.
Power Authority trustees last month authorized the forum to receive comments about the proposed phased increase that would see the delivered cost of power increase from about 1 cent per kilowatt hour (kwh) at present to about 1.1 cents per kwh in 1993 and 2 cents per kwh in 1997. The rates would remain among the lowest in the country for industry.
The trustees will consider comments made at the forum or in writing before taking final action on the rates. Information on the rate proposal may be obtained from Anne Wagner-Findeisen, Corporate Secretary, New York Power Authority, 1633 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10019, 212-468-6113.
Replacement power is 445,000 kilowatts produced at the Power Authority's Niagara Power Project and reserved under federal law to replace electricity formerly sold to industries from two Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. plants.
