POTLESS POMPEY PAY UP.

Byline: NEIL McLEMAN

PORTSMOUTH players will be finally paid today after an agreement was reached to sell the club to businessman Ali Al-Faraj.

Lawyers of current owner Sulaiman Al Fahim and the Saudi Arabian consortium led by Al-Faraj were thrashing out the deal's details in London last night.

Al Fahim (left) only bought the club in August but is being forced to sell 90 per cent of his stake to pump new finance into the club. Players and staff did not receive their monthly salaries last Wednesday but the club said those payments will now go through today.

The consortium led by Al-Faraj tried to buy the club in August but Alexandre Gaydamak preferred to sell to Al Fahim.
