POSTLE-GREAT.

Byline: Tony Parsons

AFTER Pete Postlethwaite died I went to see his last film, The Town, which has the added attraction of featuring John Hamm of Mad Men in his first big film role.

Pete Postlethwaite is brilliant as an Irish florist who cuts off the wedding tackle of his enemies - no, honestly, it works when you see it in context - and Hamm is pretty good as a smooth-talking, hard-hitting FBI man.

But even in this elevated company, the actor you can't take your eyes off is Ben Affleck.

As well as starring in The Town - easily the best gangster movie since Heat - Ben Affleck is the film's co-writer and director. And he has a six-pack.

The image lingers of Ben Affleck as some hunky Hollywood himbo.

But the man is Orson Welles with a number one crop.
