POSTIES are being recruited to help find missing children and adults.

Royal Mail are to distribute alerts about missing people to their 124,000 postmen and women across the UK.

Descriptions and photographs will be available on Royal Mail's staff website.

Sue Whalley, of Royal Mail, said: "We want to use our unique position to support this important service and perhaps help to reunite families with missing loved ones."

Jo Youle, of Missing People, said: "Our partnership with Royal Mail is a truly inspired way to spread an alert quickly and to the very people who are the eyes and ears of their local communities."
