POST-GAZETTE PHOTO STAFF STRIKES BACK

 POST-GAZETTE PHOTO STAFF STRIKES BACK
PITTSBURGH, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The presses may not be running,

but the photographers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (P-G) are still on the streets, covering the news and practicing their craft, a spokesman for the paper said today.
Due to the Teamsters strike against the Pittsburgh Press Co., the Post-Gazette is not publishing a daily newspaper. The staff of the newspaper, however, has continued to cover events for both the current news products and the information and photographic archives.
The P-G has decided to make available to the public for the duration of the work stoppage all photos which its staff takes, from Penguins to parades, from Buccos to balloon races. These photos will be available for both individual and commercial use, with rates based on their use.
In addition, Post-Gazette staff photographers can be contracted to photograph events for business and private uses. Both per photo and day rates will be available.
The newspaper is maintaining a flow of information to the public by supplying faxed news digests to businesses and individuals and operating a 24-hour phone news line.
To order photographs or to contract for a photographer, contact Mark S. Murphy, at P-G PhotoSales, 412-263-2579, for information.
To get free up-to-date information on what's happening around town, call 412-263-1748 for the P-G Phone News. To get NEWSFAX, SPORTSFAX OR MAGFAX, come to the Post-Gazette lobby at 50 Boulevard of the Allies, call 412-263-1601 or fax the P-G at 412-391-8452.
