PONTIAC'S NOVEMBER SALES UP IN THE WESTERN U.S.
PONTIAC, Mich., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Pontiac Division sales in the western area of the U.S. are up, posting a 37.7-percent increase for the month of November over the same period a year ago. Model year sales have also been strong for Pontiac in the West with sales of 12,197 units, up 12.4 percent. This sales boost has helped push Pontiac's sales for the month up 32.2 percent to 49,070 units and up 17 percent to 96,729 for the model year compared to the same periods last year. Showing particular strength in the western sales area for November were the San Francisco zone, up 114.2 percent, and the Los Angeles zone, up 24.9 percent. The sporty Firebird, subcompact Sunbird and compact Grand Am set the lively sales pace in the western area, posting sales increases of 240.6 percent, 111.9 percent and 32.7 percent, respectively, over the month a year ago.
