POLAROID INTRODUCES WORLD'S FIRST INSTANT COLOR PRINT FILM FOR TUNGSTEN LIGHTING (Product Announcement)

 POLAROID INTRODUCES WORLD'S FIRST
INSTANT COLOR PRINT FILM FOR TUNGSTEN LIGHTING
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaroid Corporation (NYSE: PRD) today introduced two new film products for technical and industrial imaging customers, including the world's first instant color print film for tungsten lighting applications.
The new films -- Polacolor 64 Tungsten and Polacolor 100 -- reflect the company's tradition of innovation and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Polacolor 64 Tungsten and Polacolor 100 are based on advanced instant color film technology, and provide high quality and application flexibility for technical imaging.
Polacolor 64 Tungsten is designed for scientific, medical, and law enforcement imaging, as well as some professional photography proofing applications. It eliminates the need for color-correction filtration used in converting daylight-balanced films for tungsten lighting.
Polacolor 100 generates rich, vibrant colors, pleasing skin tones, and bright, clean whites that make it ideal for identification and documentation images.
The new films will be marketed worldwide by Polaroid's Technical & Industrial Imaging division. Available in May, the films will be offered initially in three formats most commonly used by technical customers.
Both new peel-apart films employ a new negative and modified developing reagent chemistry offering higher contrast and color saturation. Development time for the two films is 90 seconds. Polacolor 64 Tungsten has an ISO rating of 64/19 degrees. Polacolor 100 is rated at ISO 100/21 degrees.
To enhance the functionality of the new films, Polaroid has made changes to the film pack. A strengthened safety cover enhances durability, new pull-tab design facilitates film withdrawal, and changes in the composition of the outer pod wrap improve separation from the receiver sheet.
With the addition of Polacolor 64 Tungsten and Polacolor 100, Polaroid extends the number of its Technical and Industrial Imaging films to more than 60.
Polaroid also introduced the MP 4-Plus (see note), a new version of its popular multipurpose copystand camera system for technical applications. Available immediately, the MP 4-Plus Standard and MP 4-Plus XLR models include new features for ease of use and glare reduction. The MP 4-Plus can be used as as copy, photomacrographic, and photomicrographic imaging system. It also operates as an off-stand studio or laboratory view camera or a 35mm copystand.
 ----
NOTE: The name of the copystand camera system should be presented as MP 4(plus symbol).
