PNC FINANCIAL CORP BECOMES PNC BANK CORP. TODAY

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 8, 1993 -- PNC Financial Corp, one of America's 10 largest banking organizations, today became PNC Bank Corp. (NYSE: PNC). Its New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol, PNC, will remain the same.
The change took place at the same time that PNC's banks in five markets -- Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ky., and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- all adopted the PNC Bank name.
Thomas H. O'Brien, chairman and chief executive officer of PNC Bank Corp., said, "Our move to one identity as PNC Bank reflects the fact that we are a $50-billion organization throughout the nearly 1,000- mile breadth of our market, with an array of common products and services for our retail; corporate; investment management and trust; and investment banking businesses. It also reflects today's banking environment in which customers place great value in the financial strength and customer service PNC Bank stands for."
PNC banks in Erie, and Harrisburg, Pa., and Delaware will complete the transition to the unified identity as PNC Bank by early next year. Marine Bank in Erie, Pa., will change to PNC Bank in April. CCNB Bank, Hershey Bank and The First Bank and Trust Company -- all in southcentral Pennsylvania -- will change in the third quarter of this year. And Bank of Delaware will adopt the PNC Bank name in the first quarter of 1994.
PNC Bank is one of America's largest banking organizations, with more than 550 community banking offices throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. PNC Bank's major lines of business include retail banking; corporate banking; investment management and trust; and investment banking.
PNC Bank Corp. operates as PNC Bank in most of its Pennsylvania markets and in Kentucky and Ohio. Its Marine Bank in Northwestern Pennsylvania; CCNB Bank, Hershey Bank and First Bank and Trust in southcentral Pennsylvania; and Bank of Delaware in Delaware will change names to PNC Bank by the first quarter of 1994.
