PNC BANK BUSINESS CUSTOMERS CAN NOW

PHILADELPHIA, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Businesses can now pay federal taxes with a touch-tone phone through Pinacle(R) Tax, a new tax service offered to business customers of PNC Bank.
With Pinacle Tax, PNC Bank customers can pay any of 11 federal tax types from their offices.
"Pinacle Tax simplifies federal tax payment procedures for any size business by eliminating unnecessary trips to the bank, check writing and the completion of tax coupons," said Dutch Huffman, vice president, PNC Bank Corporate Services. "Each transaction takes approximately 60 seconds."
Pinacle Tax customers dial a toll-free number between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Eastern) to initiate payments. Customers can first test the service with a demonstration phone call, and a hotline is available to answer questions. Confirmations of all transactions are mailed to customers on the next business day.
In addition, Pinacle Tax has a Penalty Alert option to ensure on- time tax payments. This option calculates tax due dates, using pay dates provided by the customer and IRS regulations. If a payment is missed or forgotten, a PNC Bank service representative notifies the customer by noon on the payment date due.
PNC Bank is the 11th largest banking organization in the United States, with $51.1 billion in assets at March 31, 1993, and more than 550 community banking offices throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
