PMSC EXPANDS TOTAL POLICY MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION AND ADDS TO TOP MANAGEMENT TEAM

COLUMBIA, S.C., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC) (NYSE: PMS) announced today that its Total Policy Management (TPM) services are being elevated to a separate business group. The change results from PMSC's expectation that TPM Services will expand due to an increased role in servicing the Florida residual markets and additional new contracts with insurance companies and other residual markets.
The new TPM business group will be headed by James P. Brown, senior vice president, who has been General Counsel at PMSC. Brown joined the company in 1982; prior to that, he was a Division Director with the Department of Insurance in Florida.
G.Larry Wilson, PMSC Chairman and CEO, said, "Jim Brown has done an outstanding job as General Counsel. His judgment, knowledge, and leadership will help us realize the potential of our TPM business."
Stephen G. Morrison had been named executive vice president, corporate secretary, and general counsel. He is currently a partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, the largest law firm in South Carolina, and he has represented PMSC since the 1970s as its primary outside counsel.
Morrison is an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law, a former Chairman of the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates and Vice President of The Defense Research Institute. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
He will remain an active partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough to provide counsel to the firm's clients. After a transition period, he will become a full-time PMSC employee.
"We are very pleased to have Steve Morrison join the PMSC team. He is clearly one of the top legal minds in the country. He is very familiar with our company, products, and customers and will be an important part of our executive management team," said Wilson.
PMSC also announced that it is placing its Information Services business units under the direction of Jeff Bragg as a result of downsizing in the health insurance markets. Mr. Bragg will continue to be responsible for PMSC's Health Group.
