HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Acting Commerce Secretary Andrew T. Greenberg today announced the approval of $170,000 in Pennsylvania Minority Business Development Authority (PMBDA) loans for projects in Dauphin and Philadelphia counties.
The projects are expected to create seven jobs and preserve eight others.
"Investing in small business is one of the best ways for Pennsylvania to help create jobs and economic opportunities for our working men and women," Greenberg said. "This month, PMBDA is investing in two established businesses that show the capacity to grow and prosper in the coming years."
 The following loans were approved:
-- Dauphin County -- $70,000 to Baldwin Service Center at 362 S. Front St. in Steelton. The $93,333 project is expected to create three jobs and preserve one job.
-- Philadelphia County -- $100,000 to the Mitchum-Wilson Funeral Home at 1402 S. 20th St. in Philadelphia. Mitchum-Wilson, located in South Philadelphia, will use the loan to complete renovations to the building and to purchase furniture. The $135,000 project is expected to create four jobs and preserve seven others.
