PM snubbed in hours row.

John Major faces a new snub over his bid to block Euro plans to limit the working week to 48 hours.

The Premier believes he negotiated an opt-out from the proposal, but the European Court is tomorrow expected to rule it will apply to Britain.

And EC chiefs plan to extend the limit to cover bus, train and lorry drivers and other workers originally excluded.

The move will infuriate Mr Major. A senior Labour source predicted: "He will go berserk.''
