PM's 'bloody difficult' vow for EU clash.

Byline: NIGEL NELSON Political Editor

THERESA May is threatening to be a "bloody difficult woman" at this week's EU summit.

The PM hinted to the BBC's Nick Robinson that she plans to give our partners a hard time if they don't sign up to her Chequers proposals for Brexit. Mrs May - once tagged "bloody difficult" by ex-Chancellor Ken Clarke - goes to Austria to dine with EU leaders in Salzburg on Wednesday. She plans to forcefully sell her Chequers plan and make it awkward for leaders to reject it.

She told Robinson, who was making a Brexit documentary for tomorrow's Panorama, that some people could "bide their time and be bloody difficult when it really matters."
