PLF Launches Online "Reagan Birthday Tribute" Site.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Today, on the 30th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's election to the presidency (Nov. 4, 1980), Pacific Legal Foundation launched an online "Reagan Birthday Tribute" site, at

"The Reagan Birthday Tribute page allows people throughout the country - and throughout the world - to participate in commemorating the upcoming 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth, on February 6, 1911," said PLF spokesperson Anne Hayes. "Today, many Americans are echoing Reagan's outspoken belief in smaller, more efficient government, lower taxes, and less government interference in our lives. The tribute website gives all those who revere our 40th president an online forum to post their remembrances and voice their gratitude for his achievements toward the cause of freedom and for his love of America and the principles on which it was founded."

Pacific Legal Foundation is America's leading legal watchdog for liberty and limited government, litigating nationwide, pro-bono, for property rights, free enterprise, and a balanced approach to environmental protection.

"PLF has a special tie to Reagan, because he inspired our founding in 1973, when he was governor of California," said Hayes. "PLF was America's first public interest legal organization dedicated to the proposition that the public interest is best served by more freedom and less government control of people's lives and livelihoods. Reagan saw the need for a pro-freedom legal organization to fight in the courts for people victimized by bureaucrats who forget that they're supposed to be public servants, not masters. With his blessing, key members of his gubernatorial administration launched PLF and began its long and successful path of fighting for freedom."

"Everyone at Pacific Legal Foundation will always be in Reagan's debt, and we are glad to be able to say, 'Thank you, Gipper,' by hosting the Reagan Birthday Tribute page," said Hayes. "We look forward to people worldwide using this resource to commemorate one of America's greatest presidents."
