PLAYBOY MANSION BECOMES 'SUPER BOWL EAST'
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Playboy Mansion in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles is a long way from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., but it's seen more than its share of Super Bowl- related activities. On Tuesday, 400 athletes, league and team executives and sports marketers from the annual International Sports Summit gathered for a gala dinner at the mansion. Olympic celebrities such as Nadia Comaneci, Pablo Morales, Mitch Gaylord, Bob Seagren, Al Joyner, John Smith, Kevin Young and Bart Connor were on hand to view the Super Bowl trophy and meet the Playboy magazine Playmates who will comprise the company's new Playmate Sports Teams. Wednesday, a contingent from Sports Illustrated magazine and Dallas Cowboys defensive starters Russell Maryland and Tony Casillas met with Hugh Hefner and toured the 5.5-acre estate after practice. The Cowboys spent most of their time with the exotic birds, fish and animals at the mansion's extensive private zoo. On Saturday, Jan. 30, the Mansion will be the site for a brunch to benefit Athletes and Entertainers for Kids. Bill Walsh will be the featured speaker and expected guests include Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Tom Landry and the New York Giants' Phil Simms. On Super Sunday, the Mansion will kick off with a brunch for 200 of Hefner's close personal friends followed by viewing of the game on a theatre-size screen and multiple monitors, a buffet dinner and a first-run feature film. -0- 1/28/93 /CONTACT: Bill Farley of Playboy, 310-246-4000/
