PLAYBOY ELECTS REBECCA S. MASKEY SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE AND TREASURER

 CHICAGO, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: PLA) elected Rebecca S. Maskey senior vice president finance and treasurer, it was announced today. In this new position, Maskey will continue to report to David Chemerow, executive vice president finance and operations and chief financial officer.
 Maskey had served as Playboy's vice president financial services and treasurer since 1990. As senior vice president, she will add the corporate controller and planning and reporting functions to her current responsibilities, which include treasury, taxes, risk management and benefits administration.
 "Through her career at Playboy, Becky has consistently proven that she has the skills and expertise to assume additional responsibilities," said Chemerow. "I am confident that she will continue to make important contributions to the company's growth and success."
 A certified public accountant, Maskey joined Playboy in 1981 as manager of tax planning and research. She was named director of taxation in 1983 and assistant treasurer in 1985. In 1987, she was promoted to corporate treasurer, adding the title of vice president in 1989.
 Prior to joining Playboy, Maskey spent three years in a number of financial positions at American Reserve Corporation in Chicago, including assistant to the chief financial officer and treasurer of American Reserve's subsidiaries. She started her career in 1970 with Arthur Andersen & Company rising to the position of tax manager.
 A graduate of the University of Illinois, Maskey received a B.S. in accountancy with honors. She also holds an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.
 Maskey is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, the American Institute of CPAs, the Chicago Finance Exchange and the Corporate International Finance Association of Chicago.
