PLAYBOY AND HOB OLE CONCLUDE LATIN AMERICA PAY TELEVISION BROADCAST AGREEMENT

 BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. and CARACAS, Venezuela, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Playboy Entertainment Group (PEG) and pay-TV programmer HBO Ole have concluded an exclusive agreement for the exhibition of Playboy-branded television programming on the HBO Ole pay service as well as other services that are currently under development by the Latin American pay- TV programmer, it was announced today by PEG President Anthony J. Lynn and HBO Ole General Manager Jose Manuel Pagani.
 Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, HBO Ole services will have exclusive television exhibition rights to the entire inventory of Playboy-produced series and specials, both existing and future productions, throughout South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Basin.
 "We expect this to be the first in a series of strategic alliances for future global expansion of Playboy blocks and programming tiers to take advantage of the unique appeal and significant marketing resources of the Playboy brand," stated Lynn. "We are pleased to have concluded this multinational agreement with HBO Ole that will broaden our global reach to make Playboy programming available to 64 territories worldwide."
 Pagani stated: "We believe the addition of Playboy programming to our services will help drive the growth of pay television in Latin America."
 Perry Schneider, HBO vice president, film programming, added: "The Playboy series and specials will round out and enhance the programming profiles of HBO Ole services, serving to complement current fare."
 Among the Playboy series to be included in the initial package are the magazine-formatted Playboy Late Night; the erotic anthology series Inside Out, which is produced in association with Propaganda Films; and the first-run, Playboy's Secret Confessions and Fantasies.
 HBO Ole Partners is a joint venture of Home Box Office and Omnivision Latinamerican Entertainment, Inc., a Venezuelan pay-TV company. HBO Ole is a pay television programming company currently offering a 24-hour Spanish-language premium movie and entertainment network, called HBO Ole, which provides recent hit movies, selected sports events and original programming to subscribers in South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Basin.
 Home Box Office, the cable programming division of Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. provides two 24-hour pay television services, HBO and Cinemax, to more than 23 million subscribers throughout the United States. It generated more than $1.4 billion in revenues in 1992. Through its HBO International division, Home Box Office has launched services in Hungary, Asia (HBO ASIA) and Latin America and is involved in pay-TV in New Zealand. The company also holds a significant stake in TV1000, a leading pay television service in Scandinavia. Other major lines of business include: HBO Video; Time Warner Sports; HBO Satellite Services, Inc.; HBO Independent Productions; and interests in several advertiser-supported cable networks.
