 PLASTIC CONTAINERS ANNOUNCES PUBLIC OFFERING
 SYOSSET, N.Y., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Plastic Containers, Inc.,


today announced the public offering of $110 million of its 10.75 percent senior secured notes due 2001 underwritten by Citicorp Securities Markets, Inc.
 The notes are non-callable for five years and have been rated Ba3 by Moody's Investors Service, Inc. and B+ by Standard & Poor's Corporation. The notes are secured by the stock and fixed assets of Continental Plastic Containers, Inc. and Continental Caribbean Containers, Inc., the wholly-owned operating subsidiaries of Plastic Containers, Inc.
 Proceeds from the sale of the notes will be used to refinance $100 million of acquisition financing and provide for general corporate purposes.
 Plastic Containers, which is 50-percent owned by Viatech, Inc. (AMEX: VTK), was organized in October 1991 to acquire the Continental Plastic Container Companies. Plastic Containers is a leader in developing, manufacturing and selling a wide variety of plastic containers. In 1981, Plastic Containers, combined with the Continental Plastic Container Companies, had net sales of $207.2 million and operating income of $5.0 million.
