PLASMA-THERM, INC. ANNOUNCES FISCAL 1992 YEAR-END RESULTS

 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Plasma-Therm, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTIS) today announced its fiscal 1992 year-end results.
 The company reported a net profit of $54,786 ($.01 per share) on revenues of $17,496,638 for the fiscal year ended Nov. 30, 1992. In fiscal 1991 the company reported a net loss of $1,390,832 ($.17 per share) on revenues of $18,733,437. Net revenues include $1 million of net license fee income received in both fiscal 1992 and fiscal 1991. Net income in 1992 includes an extraordinary item of $83,000 ($.01 per share) of tax benefits resulting from an operating loss carryforward. Earnings per share were computed based on 8,115,041 outstanding shares for 1992 and 8,118,845 for 1991.
 Management noted that the operating profit for fiscal 1992 was $510,242 as compared to an operating loss of $493,964 for the previous year, which is an improvement of approximately $1 million. The 1992 operating profit includes an inventory provision of $918,914. The net earnings for both years include the operating results of RF Power, which was spun-off to the company's shareholders during fiscal 1992. The loss generated by this non-consolidated subsidiary reduced from $961,868 in fiscal 1991 to $249,456 in 1992.
 Management also stated that the company's future success for 1993 will be based on the world market economy and continued market acceptance of its existing and new products.
 Plasma-Therm, Inc., headquartered in St. Petersburg, is a producer of plasma process equipment primarily used by manufacturers requiring expertise in reactive ion etching and thin film deposition.
