PITMAN SELECTS BROCK TO LAUNCH SOUTHEASTERN TELESALES DEPARTMENT
ATLANTA, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Pitman Company, a leading supplier of graphic arts materials, has selected the Brock Activity Manager Series to automate its newly formed Southeastern Telesales Department in Atlanta.
According to Corporate Data Processing Manager Frank McCarthy, upon successful roll-out of the Atlanta project, Pitman will expand the system to include their other regions. "Our goal is to create a successful Telesales Department in the Southeast and then regionalize it to include the Midwest and Northeast," said McCarthy.
Pitman has more than 20,000 accounts nationwide. Eastman Kodak and E.I. Dupont, two of Pitman's primary suppliers, are also established Brock customers. The majority of Pitman's accounts are serviced via field sales reps; however, the company has identified more than 80,000 smaller opportunities that can be better reached through Telesales, thus the impetus for initiating a Telesales Department.
"Because Atlanta has been selected as the pilot site, we were emphatic about getting the very best software on the market," said Evelyn Thompson, system administrator for Pitman Co., Atlanta. "We consulted with several of our vendors, including Eastman Kodak who strongly recommended Brock to us." Pitman's Telesales group will be using the Brock system to handle all new business. Pitman purchased Brock's Sales Activity Manager and Telemarketing Activity Manager modules, which will operate on 486 computers running Unix V.4 operating system and Informix.
The Brock Activity Manager Series(TM) is a system solution to automate and support the areas of database marketing, telemarketing, field sales automation, order processing and customer service. The product is a mission-critical business application offering the competitive edge to companies understanding the strategic value of an automated, integrated business environment.
Pitman Company, founded in 1906, is headquartered in Totowa, N.J., and has branches and warehouses in Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Kansas City, Mo.; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; New York; New Jersey; Philadelphia; Richmond, Va.; and Tampa, Fla. The $300-million privately held company is a leading provider of graphic arts supplies.
Recently recognized as a Company to Watch in the Software Magazine Top 100 June special issue, Brock supports the largest installed base of multi-user systems in the industry with more than 700 customers and 12,000 individual users in virtually every industry.
