Bred International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PHYB) elected Dr. Pedro Cuatrecasas to the board, bringing the total membership to 15.
 Cuatrecasas, 55, currently serves as president, Pharmaceutical Research Division, Warner-Lambert, an international company which develops, manufactures, and markets health care and consumer products. He joined the firm in his present capacity in 1989.
 Thomas N. Urban, chairman and president, said that the election of Cuatrecasas adds a unique dimension to the Pioneer board. "Pedro's responsibility for the global execution of his company's drug discovery and development programs, as well as his experience in defining and executing research programs, make him particularly valuable to us," he noted.
 Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. was established in 1926 and is the world's largest seed company, the leading developer, producer and marketer of hybrid seed corn, sorghum and sunflower seed, plus pureline varieties of soybean, wheat and alfalfa seed, and microbial inoculants for crops and livestock. Pioneer also markets agricultural business products and services.
