PINNACLE'S CINEWAVE RT NOW AVAILABLE.

Pinnacle Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCLE), has announced the immediate availability of CineWave RT. This product offers professionals the creative freedom and flexibility to perform real-time editing, effects, and compositing with uncompressed standard definition (SD) video. Users can now perform keyframeable image control and motion effects, as well as create transitions on up to two tracks of video and two tracks of graphics with alpha channels in real-time.

David Seeger, CEO of Today Video, said, "CineWave RT is like having an entire post house in a box. I have an engineering facility with thousands of square feet whose capabilities have essentially been reduced to a single card. The great thing about CineWave is that it just keeps getting better. I've got million dollar systems that gather dust after a year or two. CineWave continues to become more powerful and valuable."

CineWave RT brings to the desktop a level of capability previously reserved for the expensive, high-end post-production systems. Video professionals can work with completely uncompressed SD video to ensure pristine image quality for output. Real-time motion control of video and graphics, image control, and transitions eliminate much of the time consuming rendering and disk space demands typically associated with creating video effects and transitions. Unlike systems using preview effects, CineWave RT's real-time powered effects and transitions can be mastered out to tape without rendering. The result is greater productivity and uninterrupted creative workflow. CineWave RT also allows users to perform real-time effects on any combination of CineOffline SD resolutions and full, uncompressed quality clips within the same sequence without rendering.

Kent Harrell, Video Editor at BHMM, said, "I produce three domestic and 13 international versions of a 30 minute daily show. I don't have the luxury of sitting back and waiting for renders. With CineWave RT, Pinnacle Systems has developed the full potential of the Final Cut Pro solution by delivering a real-time system that is also intuitive to use. The final results are beautiful. Whether you came from the linear world or are just a purist, you owe it to yourself to take a look at the stunning images that come out of CineWave RT."

"Final Cut Pro's extensible architecture seamlessly integrates real-time effects into the video editing workflow," said David Moody, Apple's Senior Director of Applications Marketing. "The combination of Final Cut Pro's award-winning toolset and CineWave RT's real-time engine delivers unrivaled performance for post-production professionals working with uncompressed 601 video -- at a price that lets facilities increase productivity, not overhead."

Andrew Baum, Senior Product Manager for CineWave said, "CineWave RT sets new expectations for what is possible in a reasonably priced video production solution. At a fraction of the cost of comparable systems, CineWave RT will find a place in any professional environment where uncompromising quality and superior workflow are important. In addition to post-production and broadcast facilities, CineWave RT will appeal to DVD and web developers who want to deliver the best looking images possible in the least amount of time."

CineWave is software and hardware working together seamlessly to deliver unprecedented quality and flexibility on the Apple Power Mac G4. CineWave provides unlimited layering, effects, advanced non-linear editing, motion tracking, paint, and compositing tools. CineWave RT includes a full version of Apple's award winning Final Cut Pro, Commotion Pro, Knoll Light Factory, the TARGA Cine Engine, and the CineWave RT software. Customers that purchased CineWave before June 15, 2001 are entitled to special pricing for a limited time.
