PINKERTON NAMES OLSTEN EXECUTIVE TO NEW POST Robert Vitamante Appointed Executive Vice President of Finance and
Administration for Security & Investigation Services Firm
VAN NUYS, Calif., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinkerton Security & Investigation Services (NASDAQ: PKTN) today announced that Robert Vitamante has been named executive vice president of Finance and Administration, effective Sept. 14. This is a new position at the firm.
"Pinkerton was seeking a highly experienced financial officer and Bob Vitamante's qualifications most closely matched those requirements," said Thomas Wathen, Pinkerton chairman and chief executive officer. "We are pleased to have such an experienced, high-caliber executive joining our management team." Vitamante has served with The Olsten Corp. for the past ten years.
In his new role, Vitamante will assume responsibility for all financial and administrative matters of Pinkerton, reporting to the chief executive officer. Pinkerton's revenues now exceed $700 million in contract security, investigation and security-related consulting services.
Vitamante, 46, had served the past 10 years as senior vice president and chief financial officer with The Olsten Corp. in Westbury, N.Y., a $1 billion, AMEX-listed company providing temporary personnel services to businesses and health care clients through a nationwide network of over 700 branches. Prior to his association with Olsten, Vitamante had served in financial roles with Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. in New York City and Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KPGM, Peat Marwick), also in New York City.
Pinkerton Security & Investigation Services is the name under which Pinkerton's Inc. does business. It was founded by the "original private eye" Allan Pinkerton in 1850, and is one of the world's largest and, by far, best known provider of contract security services.
