PIMA pursues new industry partnerships in 2003-2004.
PIMA announces that it has entered into partnerships with the American Management Association (AMA) and the Pulp and Paper Education and Research Alliance (PPERA). It is PIMA's mission to deliver value by creating forums that address current issues and develop management and leadership skills. Ray Heuchling, PIMA's Immediate Past President, believes that both of these industry alliances compliment PIMA's mission while also bringing world-class management education opportunities to the paper industry.The Pulp and Paper Education and Research Alliance (PPERA) is dedicated to quality education and training. PPERA is an organization with a central focus of science, engineering and technical education but also recognizes the importance of combining that knowledge with financial and management skills. PIMA looks forward to partnering with PPERA to bring learning opportunities to future pulp and paper leaders.
The American Management Association (AMA) is a global, not-for-profit, membership-based association, providing a full range of management development and education services to individuals, companies and government agencies throughout the world. This partnership will bring several new valuable benefits to PIMA members including: member pricing on all AMA seminars, conferences and special events; preferred pricing on the use of AMA Executive Conference Centers, as well as access to Executive Matters, the AMA's monthly e-newsletter, and invitations to special events.
Harry Seamans, PIMA President, commented, "Ray's vision in forming these partnerships to benefit PIMA members is an example of PIMA leadership in action." Heuchling and Seamans concur that PIMA's partnerships with these prominent industry organizations will benefit the growth of all PIMA members as well as the pulp and paper industry as a whole.
