MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Pillsbury announced today that it has acquired Roush Products Company, Inc., the leading manufacturer of variety and specialty bread mixes for foodservice and for wholesale bakers, from Windmill Holdings Corporation.
The acquisition includes Country Hearth, the U.S. market-leading brand of variety bread, and other Roush brands.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Roush, with headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, manufactures baking mixes and specialty wholegrain and high fiber ingredients. These are used primarily by wholesale bakers to produce specialty and variety breads sold at retail under one of the 50 Roush owned-or-licensed brand names.

"One of our goals is to make Grand Metropolitan Foodservice, Inc., the leading provider of foodservice bakery products within five years," Walsh said.
"With this acquisition, we are moving into the important variety and specialty bread category, and expanding our line of bakery mixes and ingredient flours to include bakery concentrates," Walsh said. "We will also strengthen our position in the wholesale bakery business channel."
Vincent Noce, President of Roush Products Company, and his management team will continue to operate the business.
